Abstract Abstract
Nigerian polity over the years has witnessed several electoral processes and elections which have been characterized by various forms of violence. These have equally resulted into negative indices such as political apathy among the electorates, loss of lives and properties, low economic growth, poor standard of living and stunted political development. The paper examines electoral violence and its prevalence in Nigerian polity. The paper focuses on the factors behind the continuous occurrences of electoral violence in almost all the elections conducted in Nigeria at the federal, state and local government levels since independence. The study is a qualitative research which relied on secondary sources of information and anchored on elite theory as its theoretical framework of analysis. The paper finds that poverty, unemployment, financial inducement of elective positions, bad governance and loose security architecture among others are the causes of electoral violence in Nigeria. The paper further reveals that electoral violence creates fear among the electorates and some interested candidates which hinders their political participation and interests resulting in political apathy. The paper posits that electoral violence is an obstacle to good governance, peaceful coexistence and political development in Nigeria. The paper therefore recommends among others, that political education, public enlightenment, eradication of poverty through people oriented government policies and creation of jobs for the idle youths will help to ameliorate the occurrences of electoral violence in Nigeria polity.

Abstract Abstract
Nigeria is a heterogeneous society of over 250 ethnic nationalities with diverse history, culture and religion. These plural nations were brought together by Lord Lugard amalgamation of 1914 as one nation. Nigeria as a plural state has faced the challenges of nation building which includes lack of trust among the various nationalities, leadership crisis, religious problems, slow development, insecurity, bad image abroad, low foreign investment and low standard of living among others. This has led to agitations for restructuring of Nigerian nation. This paper therefore examines restructuring the Nigerian nation as a pathway to nation building. It is a qualitative work that relied on secondary source of data and anchored on pluralism theory which helps to explain the heterogeneous nature of Nigeria. The paper argued that restructuring Nigeria will create an enabling environment to achieve the goal of nation building in Nigeria. The paper believes that if the agitation for restructuring Nigeria is not attended to, the corporate existence of Nigeria as a nation remains under serious threat. It is the opinion of the paper that restructuring the Nigerian political and economic sector will bring the needed trust and the spirit of nationalism for nation building. The paper therefore recommends among others the restructuring of the political, economic and social structures of Nigeria backed with quality legislation from the parliament, good leadership and strong political will that will bring good results for nation building.

Abstract Abstract
At the end of apartheid regime, South African Economy became robust, thereby making her a cynosure of other nations especially African Nations. South Africa started to command sphere of influence and became a rallying point in terms of trade, tourism, education, telecommunication and sport for African countries. As a result, nationals of other countries especially Africa, immigrated into South Africa for jobs, entrepreneurship, education, trade among others. This helped to improve the South African economy the more, while immigrants from other countries equally excel in their various endeavours. Consequent to this, South African nationals developed fear and outright dislike for the immigrant nationals resulting to apparent xenophobic aggression. The paper therefore examines the xenophobia aggression in South Africa and its implication for inter relations in Africa. The paper is a qualitative one that relied on secondary source of information and anchored on system theory as its theoretical framework of analysis. The paper is of the belief that the xenophobia aggression in South African is caused by governance failure. The paper is also of the opinion that the xenophobia aggression will alter the inter relations order and the unity in African region. This can further mar the quest for regional integration. The paper therefore recommends among other things that the xenophobia aggression should be control through regional policies via African Union. Also, South Africa government should initiate policies that will discourage her citizens from xenophobia aggressions by providing good governance that would help her come out from economic recession.
